The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts occupies a 10,000 square-foot space that was formerly occupied by a Harris County library. A non-collecting museum, its mission is to bring the fine arts to its northwest Houston community, both through a partnership with The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, which lends the Pearl Fincher works from its collections on a rotating basis, and through exhibitions of local an regional artists. The project converted the non-descript utlitiarian space into sophisticated, flexible and sleek gallery spaces, reception area, and community room. Controlled natural light combined with incandescent light illuminates all the remodeled spaces. The program allows the museum to host events, community gatherings, school visits and classes. The project is the result of a unique partnership between the Cypress Creek Fine Arts Association, Harris County, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
