Stern and Bucek Architects
Prior to renovation
Stern and Bucek was commissioned to make landscape and accessibility improvements to Hermann Park’s iconic Miller Outdoor Theater, designed in 1968 by Eugene Werlin & Associates. The improvements included new ADA-compliant approaches, a lowered walkway for uninterrupted sight lines, a landscaped berm separating the walkway from the hillside seating area, and a new A/V booth built into the berm. The changes enhanced both the functionality and aesthetics of the facility and greatly improved the audience experience of performances under the dramatic Cor-ten steel shell.
